Notts Pride 2026 filled the streets of Nottingham with colour at the end of July, marking another triumphant year for the event.
Thousands marched through the streets, flags and placards in hand, chanting in celebration and protest. The event honoured its theme of ‘bolder and brighter’ with a stacked lineup of local talent performing on the main stage. Highlights included performances from local drag royalty, buzzing DJ sets, and inspiring speeches.
Notably, this year’s celebration was the first to take place in Pride’s home of Hockley since it was named Nottingham’s official Rainbow Quarter earlier this year. With the march passing through here from Lister Gate to Sneinton, it was wonderful to see an expression of culture that has long marked the area’s history. As usual, surrounding businesses were decked out in support of Pride and hosting events of their own, such as the Pride Mezzanine stage at Broadway Cinema.
Leigh Ellis, chairperson at Notts Pride, said: "Notts Pride is a chance for our whole community to come together, celebrate who we are and show the strength, creativity and diversity of LGBTQ+ people across Nottinghamshire."
Dedicated to keeping the event accessible to all, Notts Pride is one of the largest free-to-attend Pride festivals in the East Midlands. As a registered charity run by volunteers and supported by sponsors, it is a powerful display of what is possible when a community comes together.
At Sladen Estates, we are proud to be the principal sponsor of Notts Pride for another year running. It is a pleasure to work with organisers Leigh and Craig, whose passion and commitment keep one of the city's most-anticipated events running year to year.
This cause is close to our hearts. Chief Executive Nick Sladen says: “Pride is not only a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community but rooted in protest and demand for full equality. It is imperative that Pride continues as a safe space to fight for justice – past, present, and future.”
Looking ahead to 2027, Notts Pride will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on 31st July 2027. With planning already underway, we cannot wait to support another iconic celebration.
